Kabeli-A Hydroelectric Project (KAHEP) is a run-of-the river project located in Panchthar and Taplejung Districts. Kabeli Energy Limited (KEL) has been incorporated as a SPV to undertake the project. The main construction works of the project are ongoing following the completion of all necessary preparatory works. KEL has constructed 24 km access roads to connect the project sites with Mechi Highway. The project is financed by a consortium of local banks, with equity partners BPC and Arun Kabeli Power Limited (AKPL) holding a 60:40 stake. The completion of the project construction and commissioning is expected by the end of the next fiscal year.
