Butwal Power Company (BPC) received the survey license of Chino Khola Hydropower Project on 2071/11/04 (16 February 2015) with a project capacity of 5 MW. The feasibility study of the project has been completed with the optimized project capacity of 7.9 MW. Generation License has been issued to BPC on 2079/03/20. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study report and Revised Environmental Management Plan (REMP) have been approved by the Ministry of Forest and Environment. Industry registration at the Department of Industry has been completed and a draft Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been initialized with NEA; consent from the ERC is progress. Governmental land use and tree cutting approval has been granted by the Council of Ministers. The alignment of the project structure has been fixed in the field and the land parcel to be acquired has been identified, and negotiation with the landowners for acquiring the land is in process. Chino Hydropower Limited, with 100% ownership of BPC, has been registered to own, construct, and operate the project. In-principal consent for the transfer of generation license of the project to Chino Hydropower Limited has been received.
